Reflecting on 2011…
As we approach the middle of January, we are in the midst of creating the new home of Blice Edwards. Our new office, design studio and showroom will be opening this spring, in the 54th Street, Monon Shops, in south Broad Ripple. As we create the physical space of our future headquarters, we are reflecting on the past year.
2011 was a fantastic year for Blice Edwards, it brought great opportunities, with interesting and challenging projects. We worked with some amazing new and returning clients, designers, builders and associates. We experimented with some new materials and employed stylistic paint techniques that convey a contemporary vibe, yet reflect graphic sensibilities of the 1940’s. We had varied projects ranging from sophisticated residential renovations in Pittsburgh, to large scaled outdoor corporate signage here in Indianapolis. We did a city funded, 3-D art installation, a University commissioned 2,120 square foot and panoramic mural, a Decorator Show House, a hospital installation and then back to residential interior work, where it all began for us just over 19 years ago. We love our work and the amazing opportunities that come with this amazing craft.
A special thank you to Jennifer Miller, Rebecca Stratton, Gretchen Bartlett, Sarah Schwartzkopf, Craig Hardee, Bob Frist, Deanna Hoskins, Julie O’Brien, Peter Whitten, Dave and Suzy Reese, Frank Espich, Jim Brown from Hoosier Park, Summit Construction, Theresa and Joel from BOLDTHINK CREATVIE, and others that worked with us over the year. We enjoyed it!
We continue to work with our talented associates, the exuberant and creative Eric Wallentine, Cathy McElroy, a returning associate who brings a calm and joyful energy. Least not last the newest member of our team, Joey Burden. He is our construction and logistics man. He has assisted Christopher greatly in the construction of the new Design Studio/Showroom. Without him our space would not be a reality this soon in the year. Stay tuned! We plan to have a spring open house!
Here’s to another Fantastic year!
